Brookville, PA – A Brookville woman is accused of Medicaid fraud and is facing felony charges.

The Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging reportedly noticed that 42-year-old Angela Hulse was billing for services that she hadn’t actually performed during 2017.

Hulse billed Public Partnerships LLC for 35 hours per week for assisting someone with day-to-day living care. However, she worked fewer hours.

She also billed for weekend hours when she reportedly never worked on Saturdays or Sundays.

The agency found out about it when they compared Hulse’s time sheet to something she had posted on Facebook one weekend in February of 2017, saying that she had stayed at a hotel in Erie during that time.

A Medicaid Fraud Analyst found that Hulse overbilled for 434 hours at a rate of $10.99 per hour from June 2016 to April 2017. Hulse received $4,769.66 of payment that she should not have received.

This was part of a statewide investigation by the State Attorney General. Hulse was charged with felony fraudulent medical assistance claims and felony theft by deception by false impression.

Hulse is currently free on $10,000 unsecured bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 23.
