Clearfield, PA – The old PennDOT building in Clearfield was sold to a company that plans on turning the area into a retail plaza.
Robert Greenland purchased the property when PennDOT moved to a new building in the Industrial Park.
Because the area is near the Graystone Apartments where many senior citizens live, Greenland says he wants to create a space within walking distance where those residents could go to eat and shop.
Pennsylvania – According to the most recent census, about 21 percent of kids in the US are raised by single parents.
About 82 percent of single parents are mothers and 18 percent are fathers raising their kids alone.

Downtown DuBois Spring Clean-Up 2018
Pennsylvania – The community is looking a little cleaner after the weekend’s Earth Day activities.
In DuBois, hundreds of people took to the streets for the annual spring cleanup, picking up trash, sweeping sidewalks, scrubbing windows, making minor repairs, and brightening things up.
But remember, you don’t have to wait until Earth Day to make a difference. Here are just a few things you can do year-round to help the environment (and your local community!):
** Bring reusable bags with you when you go grocery shopping
** Use a thermos to carry your coffee instead of using a new paper cup each time

Pennsylvania – No question about it… “selfie culture” has completely changed how we visit museums, zoos, art galleries, restaurants, and really anywhere that has something interesting where we can take of photo of ourselves.

Clearfield, PA – The Clearfield Area School District is considering pairing up with the Lawrence Township Police so they can have an officer within the school.
The police department has already assigned an officer who would serve as Clearfield School Resource Officer in the junior-senior high and elementary schools.
The officer has already been instructed to start visiting the schools and getting familiar with the floorplan of both buildings.

Brockway NHS 2018 Seniors
Brockway, PA – The Brockway Chapter of National Honor Society added 18 new members but said goodbye to 17 seniors who left their mark on the school and organization.
In a ceremony Wednesday at the school, new NHS members took the NHS oath. These students were chosen from the student body based on National Honor Society’s four pillars of character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
In order to be selected, the students had to have an A average and write an essay demonstrating their character,

DuBois, PA – A local film group is providing a thought-provoking look into the history of marijuana tonight.
A colorized version of the classic 1936 propaganda film “Reefer Madness” is showing tonight at 7:30 at the Reitz Theater in Dubois.
The cost is $5 and goes towards NAFCO, the Northern Appalachian Film Collective, which strives to bring more filmmaking to our area.
