Bell Township, PA – A woman had to be flown to the hospital after a crash early Monday morning in Clearfield County.

A tractor-trailer driven by 28-year-old Nathan McClelland of Madera began to slide on icy roads around 6:30 Monday morning, just south of Mahaffey on Route 219 in an area known as “Cattlepin Curve.”

The tractor-trailer struck a guardrail and spun around, eventually crashing into a minivan driven by 58-year-old Billee Adams of Hillsdale.

Adams suffered serious injuries and was flown from the scene to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. McClelland was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and both were cited for driving too fast for the icy conditions.
