WAR MONUMENT SEMINAR AT LOCK HAVEN CLEARFIELD

Interested in learning something new? The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc., in collaboration with Lock Haven University Clearfield, announces a upcoming educational seminars offered through the Clearfield Community Lifelong Learning Institute.

Courses are geared towards the interests of the baby boomers and older citizens.  Typical sessions will last approximately 90 minutes and will be taught primarily by Lock Haven University faculty and community individuals with specific expertise. All programs will be free, or very low cost.

Curwensville’s War Monuments and a History of Commemoration:  Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Lock Haven University – Clearfield Academic Building at 1:00 PM.  Battles, victories, and those who engage in them have been memorialized throughout the history of our country and the world.  This session will examine some local monuments – – Curwensville’s Doughboy and other was memorials – – in this historical and visual context.

Presenter will be Laura Wingard, Associate Professor of Art History/Curator, Juniata College Museum of Art
